“Charming driftwood houses created from the flotsam & jetsam of the Norfolk coastline….”
Paul Howard
Paul Howard creates his delightful and heartwarming coastal cottages and buildings from driftwood that he beach combs from his home on the Norfolk coastline. Each one is unique, handcrafted from bits and pieces that he has salvaged or gathered from the beach, and then painted by hand, taking inspiration from his local surroundings.

Artist biography
Paul Howard unknowingly began his career over 20 years ago when he lovingly crafted a driftwood boat for his then seriously ill son George, made from a piece of wood found on the beach where they enjoyed spending time together in familiar surroundings. On leaving school, Paul trained as a shipwright working long hours in a boatyard, and then changed career direction to become a legal conveyancer. He now works as a full time artist, taking inspiration from the East Anglian coast that is home, selling his distinctive pieces in galleries in Norfolk & Suffolk. Sadly his son George passed away in 2010. Paul is married with a daughter Ruby.
