“It is hard to work out how Lyz produces her paintings, they are so beautifully done”
Lyz Gardner
Lyz Gardner is an oil pastelist, exploring line and colour. She produces atmospheric landscapes, evoking memories and experience. Living in Suffolk at the Snape Maltings, she observes and responds to close-up details in the landscape as well as depicting an enticing view in the distance or off to the side. They have a feeling of light and wind on a particular day.
Lyz is fascinated by capturing changes in light; dappled light through trees, light across water, light and space which has a restless and haunting quality. Not only observed, they reflect her response to something within.
